Part Time Educator

Dual Diagnosis adolescent treatment center seeking a Teacher for our inpatient day school. 


The Teacher will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing direct oversight of the day-to-day operations of our inpatient day school.


In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and experience engaging with clients, making assessments and treatment recommendations. Preferred candidates for this position will also likely have advanced training and experience with teaching troubled teens and as well as knowledge of recovery. This schedule for this position is 8:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday but has the potential to include varying shifts and on call responsibilities. 


Roles and Responsibilities


Conduct individual and family sessions for creating a plan for that student's curriculum


Communicate with clients school and keep them updated on progress for students assignments


Assist with additional duties as needed, for example, covering front desk, assisting with New Student Orientation, organizing materials, performing other clerical duties 


Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth and development through participation at in-services, workshops, staff meetings, and literature reviews


Upholds state standards for care


Adheres to Visions' facility, department, personnel and standard policies and procedures, including safety policies and safe work practices


Maintains professional competence by attending conferences, workshops, educational programs and related training


Maintains professional license, CPR and Restraint Training


Provides nurturing environment and close, intensive supervision / security for all clientele 


Skills, Qualifications, and Education


Bachelor's Degree required, Master preferred


Minimum of five years' experience working with adolescents and families in treatment and / or mental health setting with a strong understanding of systematic theoretical orientation


Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style 


A demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards


High comfort level working in a diverse environment


Excellent communication skills both verbal and written


Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access


Team Player


Ability to provide visual and auditory supervision of clients


Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality


Stays calm and emotionally available in an environment serving emotionally disturbed youth


Demonstrates group leadership and organizational skill


High degree of clinical knowledge and competence


Completion of Background Check, including criminal history and fingerprinting


Maintain current CPI and CPR certification and a valid driver's license




Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
